Expanding to Wilmington

Born in Charleston; at home on the Carolinas Coast

Published September 10, 2021

There is a certain loveliness that comes from life lived near the water. Sprinkle in some warm summer nights and the essence of “southern living” and you start to understand the ease with which New Leaf Builders is establishing its first expansion to Wilmington, NC.

Just under 200-miles up the coast from Charleston, the Cape Fear region shares numerous commonalities with New Leaf’s hometown, including a growing population made vibrant by new business investment and relocation opportunities. Both regions attract residents who embrace the outdoors, and who gravitate to the water.

New Leaf has established its North Carolina beachhead at Riverlights, a community just south of historic downtown Wilmington. Recognized with numerous awards and accolades, the Brookfield-designed master planned community winds along the Cape Fear River, embracing a blend of neighborhoods, nature and gathering places.

Construction will start in the fall of 2021 on New Leaf’s initial eight home plans, which range form 1,500- to 2,400-square feet in size. Each has been custom designed to fit the local, coastal architectural style. By welcoming indoor/outdoor living, each New Leaf design celebrates the coasts easy climate. Each home will also feature the quality fits and finishes for which New Leaf has been known since 2010.
