Inspired by SW Color of the Year: Naval

2020 Color of the Year

Published January 27, 2020

Each year Sherwin Williams promotes their color of the year, this year revealing the uniquely bold Naval SW 6244. The paint color of a house, furnature, or wall can make a huge difference on how we react to it, and as Sue Wadden with Sherwin Williams states, how it makes you feel.

“The use of color in interior design is changing. It’s not just about what a space looks like anymore, but how it makes you feel,” said Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams.

“People want to feel grounded and inspired to pursue their mental, physical and emotional well-being. Naval is reminiscent of the night sky, which people have looked to for centuries for guidance, as a muse and as a reminder to live more mindfully.”

Below you’ll find a few examples of projects painted similar tones. You’ll find that the color can be used sparingly, as on an accent wall or cabinetry, as well as boldly filling an entire room.
