For more than two decades, Faith and Aaron Jones were the proud owners of “that house” in their neighborhood. The house where all the kids gathered (20 at a sleepover stands as their record!), and where neighbors liked to hang out to chat, cookout and relax.
So when it came time to make a change – to just shake things up a bit – the couple expected it would take a while to find their perfect landing pad.
In reality, it took mere minutes for Faith to open a gate at the Domus Collection show home at Nexton and step inside the yard. “I was mesmerized. That yard, and that casita, and that open house plan just felt so right for us,” she recalls. “I called Aaron, who was home watching a football game, and said you’ve got to come see this right now.”
She was right. Having started his career in the Navy, stationed in Italy, Aaron immediately felt at home when he stepped into the courtyard that married a gentle indoor/outdoor lifestyle – just like in Europe. “I didn’t think we were ready to buy, but it turns out, we were.”
By working with the New Leaf team, they settled on the perfect plan. Both note that New Leaf’s team members paid careful attention to their input. “We were not just a sale to them; they listened and suggested great ideas to us.”
The Rosamarino, the plan they selected, offers the open, one-story style they both love, as well as room outside for a pool. They’re especially in love with the casita, which they see as a combo office, TV room and, most importantly, event space. First on the schedule: a grandbaby shower.
You see, the four kids they raised in their old home are now bringing home a new generation. Soon, the three bedrooms will be filled with little ones who grow up enjoying the pool, the yard and the neighborhood.
No word yet on breaking their 20 slumber party guest record; but the good news is, there’s room for everyone!
