Home Around the Hearth

Celebrating The Art of Fireplaces

Published December 16, 2019

As we settle into winter, and the temperature falls, many of us put a log on the fire in the evenings to cozy-up the home. The fireplace is one of the earliest features of homebuilding, and has easily lived on as a necessity of most homes today.  Putting the fireplace as the centerpiece of the parlor or living room often delegates many architectural features of the rest of the house. Masonry, millwork, the flue and firebox, and air flow all need to be taken into consideration to create a beautiful finished centerpiece.

We no longer build fireplaces for physical warmth—we build them for the warmth of the soul; we build them to dream by, to hope by, to home by.
