New Leaf Builders was recently honored with the Robert B. McLeod Partners in Placemaking Award. Granted by Newland to just four vendor partners a year, the honor was the first for a Charleston-based company.
Newland’s Nexton Community nominated New Leaf for its innovative Courtyard Domus Collection, a novel design that marries indoor and outdoor living in a perfect Lowcountry blend. The courtyard homes appeal to first-time, multi-gen and downsizing homebuyers. The dozen initial Domus designs sold so well, that Nexton is integrating the design in its newest Midtown neighborhood.
“New Leaf truly partnered with us on this entire program,” said Cassie Cataline, marketing director for Nexton. “Their design puts the homeowner first, and that is completely complementary to our community-building philosophy.”

The Robert B. McLeod Partners in Placemaking Award recognizes the role that partners play in innovating, collaborating, sharing expertise and creating community. Their role is a big contributor to Newland’s five decades of successfully creating master-planned communities.
Newland partnered the award with a significant contribution to a local charity of choice; New Leaf selected Lowcountry Food Bank to be its beneficiary.
